The Shellards Co-operative Scheme
A Happy New Year to all our clients and customers and a heartfelt thank you for your continued patronage throughout the recent difficult times for all. Looking ahead to 2022, Shellards are embarking upon a business expansion plan at our Handlemaker Road factory in Frome – Unit 4.
We are inviting businesses and tradespeople within our local area, particularly joiners, small joinery companies or trade related enterprises, who wish to consider being part of a new Co-operative initiative at our centrally-located factory. Share space and amenities and benefit from close collaboration for mutual benefit. Our large, purpose built factory has;
– Ample production, display, external/internal storage & office space
– Woodworking equipment
– Spray booth
– Close collaboration opportunities
End clients can only benefit from having a greater range and depth of resource to rely upon, but with maintained standards of service. Interested in discussing further? please enquire at the button below.
OVER 40 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
We work tirelessly to earn our reputation for quality, service and dependability. For over 40 years these founding principles have helped us succeed in continually delivering prestigious architectural joinery projects.
Our expert joinery team consistently provide a recognised, superior level of customer service.
We work hard to understand our customers requirements and many of our customers return to us year after year.
Our extensive knowledge means that we can help with building legislation on listed properties, as well as offering alternatives to resolve problems.
- Highly professional, reputable team with many years experience.
- Materials & products delivered in a timely and cost effective manner.
- We use high-quality, cutting edge mechanical systems.
Our Joinery workshop is based within our factory in Frome, Somerset. It supplies and designs joinery items to the public and trade, for both local and wider markets.
Our workshop was visited by Kevin McCloud of Grand Designs in regards to the renovation of The Apprentice Store in Bath.
For this project, we supplied joinery items including the large structural beams and all the external doors and windows. Of particular note, is the approval by Bath Council for the use of Slimlite Double Glazing in a listed building. This innovative technology is described by Kevin McCloud as “a panel so brilliantly made that it turns a cold, inefficient period window into one that is condensation-free and that meets current building regulations …”
We pride ourselves on the quality and range of our purpose-made joinery items, which include:
✔ Kitchen and Bathroom cabinets
✔ Traditional and modern staircases
✔ Internal doors and panelling
✔ Skirting and Architraves (including matching to existing profiles)
✔ Bookcases, other purpose made cabinets and shelving
✔ Paint shop – for spraying or decorating Trade or Private Client materials, components or furniture items (including a collection and return service if wanted) All OF our work is primed or stained before leaving the factory and we can even put a top coat on, giving you a ‘one stop shop’ solution.
✔ External doors and windows (including front doors, bi-fold, sliding/folding, stable doors, substantially glazed and other specialist doors; traditional casement and sashes, storm proof sashes, vertical sliding sashes, pivots and other specialist styles)
✔ Timber conservatories and roof lights
✔ Entrance gates and External furniture
We actively promote and encourage the use of renewable timbers and, wherever possible, use FSC timber and products from sustainable sources. We offer advice and guidance on the most suitable material for your project and budget – from joinery grade softwood, Douglas Fir, or MDF to hardwoods including Oak, Ash, Maple, Idigbo, Sapele, Iroko, Walnut and many others.
We supply and can design (CAD) purpose made joinery items to building contractors as well as for our own specialist installations team.
Clients include private individuals, companies, interior designers, architects and large and small building companies.
All softwood is fully treated and primed or stained as requested and we are able to arrange painting before delivery, if required.
